In 1888 Spyros Metaxas, a very progressive man, decided to create a unique spirit, which would be the softest and most aromatic in the market. This is how Metaxa was born, a drink with a strong temperament but at the same time very soft on the palate. At the same time, one of the most iconic drinks worldwide was born.

The character of Metaxa is structured with fine grape distillates that mature and age in the cellars of the House, in small oak barrels. When the time comes, they are blended with the most aromatic Muscat wine from Samos, under the supervision of the Metaxa Master who transfers the blends to larger French Limousin oak barrels to make the ideal "marriage". The final touch, a secret bouquet of May Rose petals and Mediterranean herbs.
